The Grand Bahama Utility Company (GBUC) proudly announces the appointment of Leon Cooper as its new Operations Manager. With over three decades of experience in engineering, management, and related fields, Mr. Cooper’s professional journey includes thirteen successful years as an entrepreneur, where he served as a project manager and engineer, contributing to various industries nationwide. Leon brings a wealth of expertise and a steadfast commitment to excellence to his new role.

A conscientious leader known for his dedication to safety, supportive mentorship, and collaborative team development, Mr. Cooper has distinguished himself throughout his career. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, and further enhanced his credentials as a Certified Maintenance Manager through the University of Alabama.

Prior to his entrepreneurial venture, Mr. Cooper dedicated over two decades to the power industry, serving in diverse roles encompassing plant operations, maintenance, project management, and metering and billing activities. His extensive experience spans the design and construction of various water systems and their related components.
