The RO system will meet the needs of water customers across Grand Bahama reliably and ensure that residents will never be without potable water again, even in the event of another natural disaster.

Yes you can use the water for all hygienic purposes.

In the interim, free, potable water stations are open and available in many communities and can be used for drinking and cooking. Please feel free to visit any of the following locations:

• New Horizon Worship Center (Calvary Bible)
• Church of Ascension
• Shiloh Baptist Church

Applicant must provide the following:

• Passport, Driver’s License, NIB Card (any 2)
• Proof of ownership – Letter from the landlord, conveyance, Occupancy permit or building permit (any 1)

The cost to set up a utility account is $707.96.

A reconnection fee will be charged for reconnection of service.

Interest will be charged at 1.5% per month on unpaid balances.

Approval to install a well on your property must be obtained from the Grand Bahama Utility Company.

After payment, installation takes five business days.

For customers suspected of theft or tampering, an investigation will be conducted and there is a standard $500 fee and an assessment of all unbilled revenue. Customers found tampering are also subject to prosecution.

It is an offense to tamper with installations or meters. Any person who is guilty of an offense will be prosecuted under the Freeport By-Laws Act 1965.

Application for transfer of services will only be permitted if all outstanding balances are paid in full.

It is the customer’s responsibility to notify the company when vacating premises. The customer will be held responsible for water consumed at a location up to the date of such notification.

Service may be disconnected without notice for non-payment of invoices more than Sixty (60) days outstanding.

Yes it does. Residential garbage service is provided twice weekly and commercial garbage service is provided by arrangement with Sanitation Services Company Limited.
