Public Notice Controlled Shut Down

Posted: July 31, 2020 12:08 pm

As Isaias has been upgraded to a Hurricane and is expected to be at Category 1 strength upon its potential impact to Grand Bahama, we will be conducting a controlled shut down as conditions deteriorate. However, we will continue to provide service as long as it is safe to do so without jeopardizing our natural resources.

As we monitor the storm’s development, we will provide a time frame for which interruption of service should be expected.

Rest assured, that our hurricane contingency plan has been activated and we are prepared for impact.

We wish to encourage all residents to conserve as much water as possible by filling up both tubs. containers and buckets with water for sanitary purposes.

After the storm has passed, please pay attention to official notices from G.B. Utility concerning the status of the Island’s water supply.

As soon as wind speeds allow, we will conduct necessary assessments and begin procedures to restore water services as soon os we are able to do so.
